Commercial Quantity Surveying Case Studies

The client’s brief was to adapt their new head office to be a flexible, multi-tasking business space. Given its premium location in central London, the client wanted to creatively use the functional space in a variety of ways. 

The Barker team undertook an in-depth space planning exercise to create a multi-use area incorporating contemporary open plan office accommodating 32 workstations and a meeting room. The innovative design incorporated the ability to convert the space to an open plan conference hall accommodating up to 100 persons.

The scheme involved moveable walls/sliding partitions to be integrated within the existing space. Complete adaptations to Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), lighting and fire systems were undertaken to ensure building compliance.

Careful design of bulk-head modification was provided for the new partitions to ensure services penetrations and acoustic properties of the moving partitions were enhanced so no sound transfer occurs in the different configuration of the spaces. 

The project was rolled out with the Barker team at the helm with Contractors London Wall and Barnes Interiors.

The re-fit has delivered a functional and creative space for our client’s needs.
